Ever thought of a portable record player? A LP player that you could bring with you and play your records on the go?
Well Sony actually made a portable record player, in 1983, named the PS-F9. It used batteries and was played through stereo headphones and therefore it became a part of the Walkman family.
However it was insanely sensitive to shock and made it quite unusable as a portable devices. It included a tone arm and a vertical mounting making it very steady when it stood. It included two headphone outputs and the ability to connect an outside amplifier or tape recorder.
Quite an engineering feat by Sony!
